2020 was a great test for us all. We were pulled apart, pushed apart, socially distanced. We saw division and unity. We saw prayers and protests. We cried and we laughed. We stood up and we stayed home. But despite the many trillions of different ways we each experienced this individually, we all went through this Together. I felt called to do this card reading tonight, on the last full moon of 2020. I do not consider myself a card reader, I simply have some decks and I believe intention is powerful. Nothing will change in 2021 unless we are willing to change. We each have a role in this, a part to play. We are each architects in this shared dream of reality. I hope you will feel blessed in the energy that comes through, and carry that with you like a lantern through the dark. Stay safe - Keep Up |

Illustration by Vivienne Flesher When you are anxious, worried, stressed, in pain, experiencing sadness, or any array of states arising in a non present mind. Your own body has organic systems that can be activated to change that. Your lungs do not just take in oxygen, that oxygen feeds every cell in your body. This means deep breathing can affect every organ, feeling and thought pattern. To begin just breathe in deeply, through your nose. Breathe in, like you would take in a huge hit of the finest flower. Hold it in, absorb it, sit with it, then push it back out. Release fully. The key is in the release. When you breathe in, allow your abdomen and chest to expand, engaging the diaphragm. Don't suck in your stomach, think of a Buddha belly and let it all hang out. Hold it, savor the breathe, then release again through your mouth. Do you feel that? That is your life pulse. That is oxygen. That is the blood moving through a body that is alive. That is the flow state. Continually coming back to the moment you are experiencing - right now. Repeat this 4 or 5 times, then breathe naturally. Do you feel the difference? (Tutorial video below) This activates multiple self-healing mechanisms: it induces a relaxation response, interrupts pain cycle feedback loops, improves circulation and digestion, decreases blood pressure, reduces inflammation, and perhaps the most important thing - it helps disrupt thought patterns. It can turn down the dial of anxiety over the future and replays of the past, and turn up the color and sound of the actual beauty and peace available in the moment you are in. It can literally dial down stress which causes so many health issues. This is also the doorstep of a meditative state. It brings you into greater awareness of connection and present experience. You can do this breathing technique anywhere. Anytime. With so much unrest and uncertainty. Peace can act like wound care. Peace is a state of being you can choose in any moment. 💗 For more on self-tools, healing work, and creating a peaceful and happy existence check out The Self Beyond on Amazon. The interesting thing is that both speed and direction can only be measured when in relation to space. Otherwise any movement would not be detectable, in lacking anything to move against. This is to say time and space are only dimensions. Dimensions that exist dependent on one another. In truth there is only now. There is only here. Gertrude Stein said, "if it were possible for a movement to be lovely enough it would not be necessary for anything to move against it, to know that it was moving." Here there is an immense and immeasurable beauty. Here time stands still. And in stillness, without the measurements and movements of life's cadence, that is what is most vital to our well-being. Because it brings us to the entirety of the present. The present with no other time space to override our senses. To be here, now. When we are going through a dark and difficult time, perhaps while recovering from an injury or illness, after a break up or losing someone we love, after a sudden life change that left us bewildered - we can sometimes go into a downward spiral. The spiral is very powerful. It has the ability to confuse our perceptions and filter what we see, and what we think about ourselves. That causes a negative feedback loop where our own pain and fear feeds more cycles of pain and fear. But really what we need to start being happy, is to find a way to start being happy again. So there we are stuck, in an immovable place of self-deprecation. Faced with the impossible task of changing the electrical current of our cycle. I realized today that the antidote to this is to allow yourself to experience your feelings, but to stop identifying those feelings as you. When we say, "I am sad, I am depressed, I am angry.." We are essentially identifying ourselves as those things. We forget the person we were before the raw and vulnerable "mess" we become. We start to second guess if we ever were that person in the first place. We think maybe I'm a liar, a fraud, maybe I never had it together in the first place. Maybe this is who I am. We think this crappy, helpless, pile of poo is me now. In changing how we narrate the overtones of the experience to ourselves, we can catalyze a new cycle - to remember who we are above what we are experiencing. To say instead, "I am *experiencing sadness, I am *experiencing anger," and then to say, "..and it is only temporary". This places you as a third party to the cycle of pain. This breaks the psychic storms hold on us and recovers our higher identity. You remember them right? The one that's got this! The one that can use the many ups and downs to grow, to expand, to break through. That allows us to come back into a courageous place. To realize that we are still that strong, stable, caring, and competent person were were. Don't ever forget you are not your pain, you are not what you are currently experiencing, you are conscious spirit incarnate in human form. You are here to learn, to evolve, and to map a pathway back to your greater self. You are not the storm you are experiencing, you are the sky. Learn more about activating your own inner healer and inner wisdom with The Self Beyond- link here Enlightenment and activism go hand in hand. Enlightenment without expansion is implosion. It is only self-serving, empty and ego based. Activism without consciousness, connection from a higher place from within us; the heart; will have no foundation, no direction. As you become more aware, that awareness expands to others and the world we belong to. This is an inevitability of a true journey inward - that we go beyond the self - connecting to the greater body we are a part of. This realization comes with responsibility. Believing in something bigger than yourself is part of our makeup as a species. It is an instinct that has allowed us to survive. To care for and protect the earth, our children, the water, the sky, and each other. Awareness acts like an amplifier so it is important to stay in a state of peace, but in truth. Denying the harsh realities of our shared world is not enlightenment. Overlooking the negative is not transformation. As within, so without - we must learn to recognize within ourselves the good and bad, dark and light, to love ourselves there in wholeness; then we can go into the world and bring the healing power of loving awareness there too - without turning away. The Self Beyond- a field guide for personal activation and Universal Hidden Insight today! Healing is a journey, it is a process. The process can seem elusive. There are many self-tools we can develop with practice. And that is what I want to share here. This is most effective because it empowers you in healing yourself. It does not rely on any outer source. It draws on the healing mechanisms and strength already embedded in the very fiber of your being. I am a living example of this effect in action. But it takes dedication, and daily practice. In a world where most every problem we see can be traced back to the roots of an unhealed and disconnected person, this makes healing ourselves not only an urgency, but a moral imperative. Healing ourselves and reconnecting within ourselves is one of the powerful and purposeful things we can do to help heal the world. This is the newest video on deeper healing and upgrading your daily practice. If you are in pain, working on healing, or struggling with something, whether it is physical, emotional or mental, this can provide some meaningful reflective guidance and a light at the end of the tunnel. I can only show you the door, but you are the one who must walk through it.~ |
