This can only stop by ending the ties between business and government. At least that is a step, in the right direction. Along with understanding the TPP trans-Atlantic trade agreements, Agenda 21, tar sands, fracking, and begin to see a very clear picture of what is really happening. We have to care about protecting our rights, our safety, the wellbeing of others, and the earth itself from those who don't care if they are shortsighted, or what terrible consequences come to the earth and ultimately to all life upon it: including me, you, and everyone and everything that we have ever loved. Life is something precious, no matter what you believe. And those who don't respect
the value of that life should not be involved in making any of the decisions for those that do.
THE CITIZENS UNITED RULING IN 2010
"The Citizens United ruling, released in January 2010, tossed out the corporate and
union ban on making independent expenditures and financing electioneering communications. It gave corporations and unions the green light to spend unlimited sums on ads and other political tools, calling for the election or defeat of individual candidates. In a nutshell, the high court’s 5-4 decision said that it is OK for corporations and labor unions to spend as much as they want to convince people to vote for or against a candidate."

I want to make this easy to understand, since many people shirk politics to lack of understanding, or a feeling of helplessness about any resolution to the evils prevalent within the institutions of power. I was one of those people for a long time. In any regular business, conflicts of interest are
strictly forbidden. Consider the dangers of someone being the head of a GMO food production company such as Monsanto, while also working as a regulator for the FDA, such as is occurring with people like Michael R. Taylor. In big business and politics this is a common practice and neglects any liability to moral consideration as well as being grossly left unchecked.
To most people it is obvious why you cannot both hold a political position as the Director of
Energy for the government, while simultaneously being the head of a large oil company. Consider all the biased decisions this leaves the public susceptible to. However sadly, this is the exact scenario we have in the United States.
When big business can largely influence political seats, and elections, we are likewise set up for the agenda of the financiers and you can bet, those interests conflict with the common best interest.
BIG BUSINESS AND POLITICS, WHY IT MATTERS
We have had Presidents launching particularly questionable wars with countries rich in oil, such as George Bush junior and the war in Iraq. This was sold as a“war against terror” however the corporate owned media was not quite so transparent to disclose the young president in fact owned an oil company: Arbusto 79 limited, which along with Dick Cheney’s Halliburton
and George Bush seniors membership in the venture capital firm heavily invested
in arms dealing the Carlisle Group, there was a lot of corporate profit to be made through the
misuse of political powerand conflicts of interest which still exist unregulated today.
Ernest Moniz, MIT professor was elected by Obama with confidence to the position of Secretary of Energy. A reputable and influential position which relates to the countries production and consumption of energy. However, “the initiative’s website discloses its main sources of funding — including oil conglomerates BP, Shell, and Hess — Moniz and other researchers at the
initiative have not provided a full accounting of the compensation they personally receive from energy-related firms, including some of the sponsors of their research.”

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE TIES BETWEEN BIG BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT?
Perhaps you shrug and say, “So what. What can we do?” Right now, we have an unprecedented chance to make a change to this long standing imbalance and amend it. It is a click of your
mouse away. To neglect to use that ability now, is to neglect to defend your own rights, the rights of the others who are drastically affected, and the rights of the planet itself, all life, and the very thing which makes us human; humanity itself. If we continue to allow these conflicts of interest to be present, then we reinforce the trade agreements which seek to destroy the planet for profit, that seek to strip the earth bare with fracking, in what may soon be our own backyards. If we do not speak now, we allow the Halliburton’s (Dick Cheney) and Monsanto’s (Hillary Clinton) to continue making decisions which affect the health and wellbeing of the entire planet. We
allow the decisions made to be kept in the hands of those who profit off of making the wrong decision. We can put a stop to this illegal and immoral set up by just for once, speaking up.

HOW CAN YOU PUT A PENALTY PAYMENT ON THIS? THE PLANET, THE MAJESTIC AND BEAUTIFUL CREATURES UPON IT, THE WATER, THE SAND, THE EARTH, AND LIFE ITSELF IS PRICELESS.
There is a Native American concept of seven generations, which means leaving the earth healthy,
the resources, the life it harbors clean and beautiful for seven generations following. Perhaps we can begin to adopt such a beneficial philosophy in order to restore balance to our earth, and save it from the greed of politics and big business.
THIS CAN NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN, IT IS TIME TO RECOGNIZE THE WEB OF LIFE, GOES BOTH
WAYS.
CANNOT PROTECT US, IF WE DO NOT RESPECT THAT THIS EARTH IS OUR HOME, NOT OUR
DUMP.
Many of us live so completely disconnected from the earth, which is why we cannot feel it. A synthetic barrier has been placed in between us and our intimate connection with the earth. We do not grow our food, we buy it. We make no meaningful contact to truly imbed within us the necessity of respectful balance between all life. To say “earth is our home” still often conjures a kind of benign neglect, an absence of any bond, because we do not build our home, we do not cut the trees, carve the rocks, and that makes us spoiled. WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS. LET'S PROVE THAT AND BE THE EVOLVED CONSCIOUS SPECIES WE WERE MEANT TO BE.
It is imperative to the survival of humanity as a species to look up, and recognize what is occurring between the largest economic players and the government which has been bought out by them. We have to show them that we are not stupid, that we see it, and that we are not careless, that we will not allow it to continue.
